To Our Sanitation Customers:
The City of Fernandina Beach has had an influx of illegal yard debris; trash; house hold items & debris; and construction debris dumping in the city limits over the last year. A reminder that placement of yard waste (no more than 3 cubic yards) and trash on a residential property by a business is prohibited in City Limits, unless it originated from that residential property. Large amounts of extra trash, household items and debris should be scheduled with Advanced Disposal for pickup (904) 261-7186. All construction debris and debris from clearing vacant lots must be removed by the owner or the person performing that work.
Residential garbage and recycling containers are to be out by the street no earlier than 6:00pm the night before your pick-up day and must be brought back in by 8:00pm the day of your pick-up.
Central Business District (Downtown) garbage and recycling containers can be put out by the street after 6:00pm the night before your pick-up day and must be brought back off the street after the container(s) have been emptied at the earliest convenience of the owner, tenant or occupant, or by 11:00am, whichever is later.
Absolutely no garbage or recycling container, residential or commercial, can be left out by the street indefinitely. They must be stored on the property of the owner, occupant, or tenant, by whom the garbage is accumulated.
In order to better serve our citizens, the City of Fernandina Beach is in the process of implementing new billing software. We will introduce the improved programs April 2018. We look forward to the challenges ahead and to a successful conversion.
