City Commission

Overview

The form of government of the City of Fernandina Beach is known as the "Commission-Manager Plan." Under this plan, the Commission has powers to adopt ordinances, approve regulations and appoint the City Attorney, City Clerk and the City Manager.

The Fernandina Beach City Commission consists of five citizens who are elected at large, including the Mayor who presides at all meetings of the Commission.

Regular Meetings


The City of Fernandina Beach City Commission meets at 6:00 pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month.

Anyone wishing to speak at a City Commission meeting is required to complete a "Request to Speak" form provided at the meetings and deliver it to the City Clerk.
