Subject:    Survey requirements



This notice is intended to provide clarification that original, sealed, and scaled surveys for permit applications are required by the Planning and Conservation Department for  Planning and Zoning review:


The following types of work will require a recent survey (less than 2 years old), Certified by the Surveyor:

  • Any new structure on the property, including, but not limited to, new single family homes, commercial development, fences, signs, sheds, garages, additions, screen enclosures, pools.
  • Any work that encloses or creates new conditioned space.
  • Any addition or extension of the footprint of an existing structure.
  • Monument/Freestanding signs.


Any application requiring a survey that is missing the survey, survey not certified, or not a full-size copy will not be accepted.

Final surveys will also be required for final approval of completed work.
