Chief's Message
James T. Hurley
Chief of Police

“Welcome to the Fernandina Beach Police Department website. As the northernmost police department in the State of Florida, we are often the first to greet travelers in search of warm weather and a variety of outdoor activities. I want you to know that our police department is comprised of dedicated professionals eager to assist you, whether you are a first-time visitor or a life long resident. Our mission statement is grounded in our core values of integrity and service orientation. We actively promote fairness, diversity, personal responsibility and moral courage within our organization.

As you navigate through our site, take a look at the many services we provide to the Fernandina Beach community. We invite you to tell us about traffic issues in your neighborhood via our “Traffic Enforcement” link, or go to “Crime Statistics” to view historical crime data or to view our real-time crime map.

I hope that our website begins to demonstrate our sincere interest in providing you with the highest level of service, and that you will consider taking an active role in your community by partnering with us to identify and solve problems. Together we can maintain Fernandina Beach as a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Fernandina Beach is located on beautiful Amelia Island and is truly a unique community, rich in history and opportunity. I invite you to take advantage of all we have to offer and ask that you enjoy yourself responsibly, while we focus on the task of keeping everyone safe and sound.”
