Adult Softball Leagues

Seasons:  Spring (February - May), Summer (June - July), and Fall (August - November)
Game/practice site:  Ybor Alvarez Softball Fields at the Fernandina Beach Athletic Complex, 3243 Bailey Road

  • Recreational Co-ed (spring and fall):  USA Softball rules; single wall, one-piece aluminum/alloy or wood bat rule for men; women may use any ASA-approved bats (single wall aluminum/alloy, multi-wall aluminum/alloy, composite, and wood) ; 6 men/4 women; games on Mondays.
  • Open Co-ed (summer only):  USA Softball rules; men and women may use any ASA-approved bats not listed on the ASA Non-Approved bats list; 6 men/4 women; games on Mondays
  • Co-ed 1-Pitch (summer only):  USA Softball and USSSA rules; 6 men/4 women;  men may use any ASA-approved bats; women may use any ASA-approved or current USSSA-approved bats; games on Mondays.
  • Men's Open (spring and fall):  USSSA rules; games on Thursdays.
  • Men's Recreational "Hit Our Stick" (spring and fall):  USA Softball rules; ASA-approved bats provided by the Recreation Department (personal bats not allowed); games on Thursdays.

  • Two-game refundable forfeit fee due June 2nd:  $72

*Includes scorekeepers' fees.  Umpires' fees not included.

Adult 4-on-4 Flag Football League

Spring League information:
  • Games played at Hickory Street Park, 1700 Hickory Street (across street from FBHS baseball field) on Saturdays.
  • 14 regular season games and playoffs.  Season begins April 1st.
  • Ages 16 and up (ages 16 and 17 must have Parental Consent & Medical Release forms signed by parents and submit to Parks & Recreation Department before playing.  Download form here:  Parental Consent & Medial Release).
  • Teams must supply their own footballs.

Soccer Made in America Training Camp
June 19th - 23rd, 2017
Fernandina Beach Athletic Complex
9:00am - 12:00pm each day

Ages 4-17

Professional soccer training covering technical and tactical training.  The camp emphasizes psychological dimensions such as motivation, confidence, leadership, and game smarts.  Awards ceremony on the last day of camp to include Certificates of Achievement for all participants, "Most Creative Player" trophy, and prizes for juggling contests.  All participants receive camp t-shirts. 

$160 first family member
$150 second family member

This "sport" is a combination of tennis and ping pong, played on a badminton-sized court with a net close to the ground, where players use paddles and a small wiffle ball.  Find out more at or  

Open pickleball is played at the Central Park Multi-Purpose Court, behind Tennis Courts #3 and #4 at the corner of South 13th Street and Atlantic Avenue.  Four (4) pickleball courts are available.

Co-sponsored Youth Sports Organizations
The City of Fernandina Beach co-sponsors several youth sports organizations.  All of these non-profit associations utilize City facilities for their particular activities, under the conditions of City Facilities Use Agreements for Sport Leagues, and they conduct their own registrations throughout the year.  Volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are abundant and welcomed.

***Please note:  Persons under the age of 16, you MUST be accompanied by an adult of the age of 18 or older to enter Peck Gym.
All patrons of the proper age must present photo identification and be checked in by the Gym attendant in order to use Peck Gym.
Lockers are available for personal items.  Bring your own lock.

Open Basketball
Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00am-7:00pm; Wednesdays from 11:00am-5:15pm; Tuesdays & Fridays from 11:00am-4:30pm (Tuesdays & Fridays from 11:00am-2:00pm November through the end of April). 

Free.  NOTE:  open basketball times may vary due to other programs

Youth Team Volleyball
Tuesdays & Fridays from 3:00-6:00pm.  For school and club teams.  Players must have coach or adult supervision.  Two courts available.  Please call at least 24 hours in advance to reserve courts:  904-310-3353.
