H.R. 218
The Fernandina Beach Police Department is a strong supporter of H.R. 218, the “Law Enforcement Officers’ Safety Act." The Department provides the required training and ID card free of charge to retired Federal, State, and municipal law enforcement officers that reside within the State of Florida. The handgun qualifications are held quarterly on the dates listed below. Please download, print and complete the attached form and bring it with you (Notary available at Police Department). You must register at least three business days in advance.

  • January 10, 2018

Please arrive promptly at 2:45 PM. You must attend the 3:00 PM safety briefing held in the Community Room prior to proceeding to the firing range.

What to bring with you:
  • Agency ID
  • Pistol or Revolver
  • Appropriate Holster
  • Ammunition- Fifty rounds
  • Eye and Ear protection
