The "Dunes & Tunes Arts and Music Festival" will kick off at 12:00pm on August 16th with a Sand Sculpting Contest, open to all ages and skill levels.  Entry fees for the contest are:  $10 for ages 12 and under; $15 for ages 13 and up; and $30 for a team.  Participants will have three (3) hours to create their best sand sculpture (participants are eligible to enter the music venue for only $10).

The Music and Arts Festival will open at 3:00pm.  Some of the area's best artists will showcase their works in all mediums, and several artists will be doing live paintings during all musical performances.  Also, several booths will be on display with sculptures, photos, paintings, and more!  Musical artists will feature Parker Urban Band, a popular funk band from Jacksonville, followed by BIG Something, one of the fastest rising acts out of North Carolina.  BIG Something brings a party filled with everything jam fans love - an expertly-played eclectic mix of rock, funk, jazz, reggae, and more.  S.P.O.R.E. will take the stage next, a five-piece livetronica jam band out of Jacksonville that creates and fuzes a unique medley of rock, funk, jazz, blues, hip hop, and dancy electronic jams.  The music will close with the return of Zach Deputy, part of Goin' Coastal's first show.  Zach will bring back his self-proclaimed "island-infused drum n' bass gospel ninja soul."  He is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in Savanna, Georgia and is best known for his live, looping shows.  A crowd favorite, Zach always sends fans home with smiles on their faces.

In addition to the arts and music, the festival will feature a line of food trucks; an interactive Kids' Zone; the now-famous giant water slide; the Northeast Florida Cornhole Championships; a Rock-Paper-Scissors Battle Royal; and vendors.  Buy your tickets now!
