The City of Fernandina Beach 2030 Comprehensive Plan establishes long-term goals, objectives, and policies to provide an effective and efficient balance of the City's anticipated growth demands with its goals for protecting natural and cultural resources. Our Comprehensive Plan is a living document. While the Comprehensive Plan is designed to provide certainty in the development of our City, it must also be responsive to the City’s growth and the community’s desires. The Comprehensive Plan serves as the guide for making decisions such as land use changes, capital improvement programs, and the rate, timing, and location of future growth.

2014 Comprehensive Plan Amendments
OHPA Master Plan Update

The City's current Comprehensive Plan states that "the primary purpose of the Port Master Plan is to clearly define the Port's direction for the future." At present, the Nassau County Ocean Highway and Port Authority (OHPA) is in the process of modifying its Master Plan to comply with Florida Law requirements to prepare a 10-year update. The Port can achieve its goals only though coordination with local government, business, industry, and the general citizenry's support of the policies and plans outlined in its Master Plan. For more information on Florida's statutory requirements for deepwater ports please visit the Department of Economic Opportunity Website.
