Indoor Meeting Spaces

The Parks & Recreation Department offers rentals of indoor meeting spaces at the Atlantic Recreation Center; MLK, Jr. Recreation Center; and Peck Center.  Full day (up to 8 hours) and half day (up to 4 hours) rental rates available.  Please note that 6.7% sales tax is added to all rental fees.


Atlantic Recreation Center

Ms. Joan Bean Auditorium

The Ms. Joan Bean/Atlantic Auditorium is 5684 square feet (98’ x 58’) with a max capacity of 800 standing and 375 sitting (at tables).  It has block walls, tiled floor, and a stage.  Included are 225 chairs, thirty (30) 8’ banquet tables, and eight (8) 60" round tables for use.  The full kitchen features 1 refrigerator available to renters, double electric range stoves, a microwave, deep-well sinks, an island counter space, and an ice machine.  WIFI available.

The Patricia A. Thompson Auditorium is 1478 square feet with a max capacity of 211 standing and 99 sitting (at tables).  It has block walls and vinyl floors.  Included are 99 chairs, eight (8) 8' banquet tables, and eight (8) 60" round tables.  The full kitchen has a refrigerator, electric range stove, sink, microwave, island counter space, and an ice machine.  WIFI available.

The Willie Mae Ashley/Peck Auditorium is 1543 square feet with a max capacity of 200 standing and 100 seated.  It has hardwood floors, plastered walls, a stage, wireless sound system, and piano (upon request).  Included are 111 cushioned chairs and six (6) 8’ conference tables.  WIFI available.

Instructors Studio

The Instructors Studio is 840 square feet with a max capacity of 55 standing.  It has a plank-style tiled floor, concrete block walls, and a single restroom (toilet and sink).  Included are five (5) 8' conference tables and 40 cushioned folding chairs.  WIFI available.
