Youth Programming
Camp Imagine Summer Camp
The City of Fernandina Beach Parks & Recreation Department's summer camp is for children grades k-5. Participants will enjoy themed activities, crafts, games, and pool time. Field trips and other planned activities may also be included. Lunch (Monday - Friday) and daily snacks will be provided. Registration for this program begins in March until filled.
Afterschool Program
The City of Fernandina Beach Parks & Recreation Department's afterschool program is licenses through the Department of Children and Families. This program is available to children in grades K-5th. This program provides transportation from Fernandina Beach public schools (Southside Elementary and Emma Love Hardee Elementary), daily snack, homework time (assistance if needed), outside activities, as well as inside activities.
Amelia Island Chess Club
Amelia Island Chess Club meets at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium on Tuesdays from 3:00pm-6:00pm. For more information, please contact Tom Rowan, 281-701-7051 for more information.
Group and Private Swim Lessons
The Parks & Recreation Department's Aquatics Division provides group swim lessons in the spring, summer and fall. City Safety Initiative (CSI) offers free swim lessons (beginner and advanced beginner levels) for City residents. All group swim lessons are held at the MLK, Jr. Pool, 1200 Elm Street. Home School Swim Clinics
The Parks & Recreation Department's Aquatic Division host home school swim clinics in the fall and spring for children aged 4 and up (must be able to swim 25 yards continuously, unassisted). Clinics are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00am - 11:50am at the Atlantic Center Pool, 2500 Atlantic Avenue.
Youth Basketball Clinics
The City of Fernandina Beach Parks & Recreation Department provides youth basketball developmental training at the Peck Gym, 510 S. 11th Street. For more information, contact Scotty Mason at 901-949-4331 or mason_bball@yahoo.com.
