How to file a Code Complaint:

There are several ways to report an issue to the Code Enforcement Department, including submitting an online complaint form, Citizen Self-Service portal, TextMyGov, phone, email, or come pay a visit in-person.

Important Information regarding complaint submission

Please be advised that we will no longer accept anonymous complaints. To ensure that we can address your concerns, please submit your complaint with the following details: 

  • Violation Specifics
  • Exact property address 
  • Your full name
  • Your address
  • Your contact information

Note: Effective July 1, 2021, under Florida Statutes Section 125.69 the City of Fernandina Beach, Code Enforcement, is no longer allowed to investigate potential violations of code of ordinances through anonymous complaints, except under specific guidelines for safety and environmental violations. A person who reports a possible violation must provide their name and address as part of the complaint. This is only meant to serve as a brief summary of the recent amendments to Florida Statues Section 125.69.

What happens after my complaint is submitted?

Once your complaint has been submitted, the Code Enforcement Department would evaluate the complaint, if all information required is included, a Code Enforcement case will then be opened, and an initial inspection will be conducted by the Code Enforcement Officer.
