Compensation
The Fernandina Beach Police Department is currently in the first year of a three year contract. Police Officers and Police Sergeants are represented in collective bargaining by the Coastal Florida Police Benevolent Association, (CFPBA). The starting salary for Certified Police Officers:

- Accumulation of 200 hours of Compensatory Time
- Annual Sell-back of 75 hours of Compensatory Time
- Differential Pay of 5% for Field Training Officers
- A three hour minimum for court Subpoenas and Depositions
- Shift Differential pay for working the Night Shift
- Paid Time Off (P.T.O.) 192 hours after 1 year
- Differential Pay of 6% for Detectives
- Tuition Reimbursement Program
- Annual Shift Pick in Patrol Division
- Forty (40) Mile Radius for Residency Requirement
- Thirty (30) Mile Residency Radius for Personally Assigned Vehicles
