Roles & Responsibilities

The City Attorney traditionally serves three different functions for the City Commission – counselor, solicitor and attorney.

As Counselor, the City Attorney assists with developing and implementing legally sound, effective and efficient policies and programs and giving advice to accomplish the policies set by the City Commission.

As a Solicitor, she drafts contracts, ordinances, and other legal documents utilized by the government.

Finally, as an Attorney she stands as the official representative of the City in the courtroom and other proceedings.
